who we are

Quality

At KEMRON, our commitment to quality is unwavering. Guided by our Quality Management Plan (QMP), we deliver high-quality services that consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. Our mission is to continuously improve our quality program through accountability, innovation, process improvement, and value, ensuring we provide superior products and services.

Our quality management operations are led by the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), who reports directly to the President. This role ensures unbiased oversight and consistent quality management across all projects. The QAM has the authority to develop QA/QC policies, review and approve Quality Assurance Project Plans and Quality Control Plans, conduct assessments, and implement corrective actions. Notably, the QAM can stop work on a project if significant deficiencies are found until corrective actions are in place. Additionally, many of our quality control staff are USACE Construction Quality Control certified, enhancing our capability to meet rigorous quality standards.

In the field, our Quality Control (QC) Officers play a crucial role in managing day-to-day operations. They oversee the implementation of project-specific quality plans and ensure compliance with established SOPs. We utilize the USACE three-phase quality control process to maintain our high standards. This process includes preparatory meetings to review project requirements, initial inspections to ensure work complies with standards, and follow-up inspections to verify that completed work meets all quality criteria. Our QC Officers conduct regular inspections, audits, and tests to verify that all activities meet the required quality standards. They are empowered to identify and address any quality issues immediately, ensuring that any deviations are promptly corrected. Their hands-on approach and attention to detail are vital in maintaining the high standards of service that KEMRON is known for.

All KEMRON employees are empowered to identify and address potential quality issues. We provide overarching quality control training, job specific SOPs, and on-the-job specific training relevant to their roles. We also maintain a comprehensive library of Standard Operating Procedures that govern our environmental information collection and management, which are reviewed and updated annually to incorporate the latest best practices and lessons learned.

Quality improvement is integral to our operations. We employ the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model to ensure continuous assessment and enhancement of our processes. Regular audits, assessments, and feedback loops help us identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes. We use robust data management systems to ensure the accuracy and reliability of environmental data, supported by an IT infrastructure protected by multilayer endpoint protection. All data undergo thorough verification and validation to meet project-specific quality objectives.

By prioritizing quality, KEMRON ensures a culture of continuous process improvement, the delivery of reliable and high-quality services, fostering trust and satisfaction among our clients.

Safety

At KEMRON, safety is paramount, and our goal is ZEROES – zero accidents, zero incidents. Our safety program ensures continuous training and refined safety protocols, and our employee-owners are well-versed in OSHA regulations and hold multiple safety certifications.

Our comprehensive safety program includes mandatory OSHA courses, HAZWOPER certification, first aid/CPR, and job-specific training. We enforce the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all field activities and have a robust emergency response plan featuring regular drills and simulations. Each project has a detailed site-specific safety plan addressing unique risks and regulatory requirements.

Empowering employees is a critical aspect of our safety culture. Every employee is required and authorized to stop work if they identify unsafe conditions which ensures immediate hazard mitigation.

Regular internal and external audits ensure compliance with safety regulations and continuous improvement. Our proactive approach to incident prevention includes site inspections, hazard assessments, and near-miss reporting. Incidents and near-misses are thoroughly investigated with findings used to enhance safety protocols.

KEMRON’s exemplary safety record reflects our team’s commitment and vigilance. We believe safety is a shared responsibility and encourage employees to participate in safety meetings, report hazards, and suggest improvements. This collaborative approach ensures active engagement in maintaining a safe workplace.

Continuous improvement is central to our safety culture.  Monthly Safety Stand Downs are conducted further emphasizing our commitment and undergirding our safety culture.  We regularly review and update safety policies to incorporate the latest best practices and regulatory requirements in order to exceed industry safety standards.

By prioritizing safety, KEMRON ensures effective job performance while minimizing risks and protecting employee well-being fostering a safety culture throughout our operations.

Sustainability

At KEMRON, sustainability in environmental cleanup and investigation is fundamental to our mission. We integrate practices that minimize environmental impact and promote long-term protection.

We employ green remediation practices such as in situ treatment, bioremediation, and phytoremediation which treat contamination on-site reducing the need for excavation and transportation and lowering our carbon footprint.

Our commitment extends to using sustainable materials and energy-efficient equipment. We prioritize recycled and environmentally friendly materials in our projects and ensure our equipment consumes less energy and emits fewer pollutants. Waste minimization and recycling are also key aspects of our approach. By implementing source reduction practices and recycling materials like metals and concrete, we significantly reduce waste generation.

Water conservation and management are critical to our operations. We design stormwater management systems to prevent erosion and contamination and recycle treated water in our cleanup processes. Additionally, we focus on sustainable land use and habitat restoration. We restore native vegetation and habitats to support biodiversity and repurpose brownfield sites for new and sustainable uses.

Monitoring and adaptive management are integral to our strategy. We use advanced monitoring technologies to track contamination levels and the effectiveness of our cleanup efforts and continuously adjust our methods based on real-time data and environmental changes.

Compliance with environmental regulations underscores our commitment to high environmental performance. We conduct life cycle assessments to evaluate the environmental impacts of our cleanup activities from start to finish identifying and minimizing adverse effects throughout the project lifecycle.

Implementing these sustainable practices enhances the environmental, social and economic outcomes of our cleanup and investigation efforts ensuring a healthier planet for future generations.
